A meeting was arranged by IEEE-PES and IAS joint student branch chapter, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, on December 20, 2016. The aim of this meeting was to show appreciation for PES and IAS joint student branch committees and volunteers.
IEEE PES, Bangalore Chapter, organized a “Young Researchers Meet” on December 17, 2016, at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru. B. Tech. and M. Tech. students from different colleges, and professional researchers from various companies participated in the meet, along with faculty of department of EEE, Amrita School of Engineering.
The International Gita Chanting Event, initiated by Kurukshetra Development Board, on behalf of Haryana Govt., was conducted in a befitting manner at the Central Atrium of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences on December 10th, 2016. The idea was to chant Gita across the globe at one moment in time for strength and peace. The selected 18 slokas were chanted exactly at IST 6.00 p.m., one sloka from each of the eighteen chapters of Gita.
The Coimbatore campus of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham joined the Global Gita Chanting event initiated by the Chinmaya Mission on 10th December, 2016.
Amrita Club for Robotics and Mechatronics (ACROM), Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru organized an inter collegiate robotic competition, Sentience’16.
An invited talk on Gender Sensitivity was organized by the Student Nurses Association of Amrita College of Nursing on November 24, 2016.
Amrita College of Nursing, Kochi, conducted an awareness session for students by Bodhini on November 1, 2016. Bodhini is an awareness programme on violence against women and on child abuse.
The Amrita Photography Club (APC) of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus, conducted a Basic Photography Workshop in association with Nikon India Pvt. Ltd., on the 25th of October 2016.
Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru organized a technical event, Techwiz, for school students, as a part of Aarohan. Aarohan is exclusively conducted for school students to exhibit and enhance their talents in science and technology every year by the Amrita School of Engineering on the 10th and 11th of November, 2016. The level of participation was astounding, more than 1500 students from 46 renowned schools of Bangalore attended.
Amrita Darshanam- International Centre for Spiritual Studies, in association with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), hosted a National Seminar on “Kerala School of Astronomy and Mathematics: Contributions and Contemporary Relevance” on November 4th-5th, 2016, at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, Kollam.
