Overview

MDS Courses are offered in 9 streams in Amrita School of Dentistry, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi. The courses are recognized by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi.

After NEET – MDS 2021 results are published, candidates are advised to visit the Medical Counselling Committee’s (MCC) for participating in All India Deemed University counselling conducted by the Directorate General of health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), New Delhi.

Selection for PG Dental (MDS) Admissions is based on the NEET MDS 2021 All India Rank (AIR). Admission of candidate is based on the centralized online allotment list published in the MCC website.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the MCC Website for latest notifications regarding counseling schedule / reschedules / counselling scheme and other updation after NEET-MDS 2021 results. Candidates must also visit Amrita PG Dental frequently for further instructions and guidelines regarding reporting for admissions.

Instructions & Guidelines for Allotted Candidates
ATTENTION!!!
As part of covid-19 precautionary measures, only the candidates are permitted to enter the admission reporting area (Ground Floor – Medical College Building, Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi)

Candidates who have been allotted seat in Amrita School of Dentistry, Kochi for MDS by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through centralized common counseling, should report at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on or before the last date of reporting as per MCC guidelines.

Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, the below Special Instructions are to be followed by candidates while reporting physically: –

  1. Candidates are requested to enter the Dental College Building Only.
  2. Candidates should wear N-95 masks compulsorily.

Candidates should bring their Provisional Allotment Letter issued by DGHS, original certificates and proof of online payment receipt of first year fees and submit the same. Candidates without original certificates/documents/payment proof shall not be allowed to undertake admission process and same will be intimated to DGHS. Before reporting, candidates should remit their first year course fees through online mode and proof of fee remittance should be e-mailed to pgadmissions@aims.amrita.edu(please refer point number III).

Documents / Original Certificates to be Submitted on the Day of Reporting

  • Allotment Letter issued by MCC (Two Copies)
  • NEET – PG Score Card (Two Copies)
  • Admit Card issued by NBE (Two Copies)
  • Result/Rank Letter issued by NBE
  • BDS Degree certificate /Provisional Certificate from the concern University
  • Mark Sheet of BDS Professional Examination year wise
  • Permanent / provisional Registration Certificate issued by DCI/State Dental Council. (Provisional Registration Certificate is acceptable only in cases where candidate is undergoing internship and likely to complete the same on or before 31st March of the year of admission)
  • Internship Completion Certificate (from the Head of Institution or college that the candidate shall complete the internship by 31st March of the year of admission).
  • Attempt certificate
  • High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.
  • Candidates allotted seat must carry one of the identification proofs (ID Proof) to the allotted college at the time of admission (as mentioned in the information Bulletin published by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for AIPGMEE/ AIPGDEE i.e. PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport or Aadhaar Card).
  • Transfer Certificate from the institution last studied (if not received from the institute, mention the reason and to be submitted while reporting for admission physically to Amrita).
  • Migration Certificate from the University (if not received from the institute mention the reason and to be submitted while reporting for admission physically to Amrita).
  • Recent passport size color photographs – 5 nos
  • Copies of all certificates (one set)
  • In Addition to the above, a Hand Written and Self Attested undertaking by the candidate stating as under: –
    “I hereby declare that all the information given/uploaded by me in the application is factually correct and true to the best of my knowledge and belief. I undertake that in the event of any information being found false or incorrect at any stage, my candidature is liable to be cancelled and I will have no claim on the seat allotted to me by the competent authority”.
  • Character and conduct certificate
  • Medical Certificate for fitness (as per the format prescribed)

NOTE: –

  • The above certificates mentioned in originals are mandatory and have to be submitted in original to Academics Office at the time of reporting for admission.
  • Candidates reporting for admissions with incomplete list of the above documents will not be allowed to undertake the admission procedure & will be rejected. The same will be intimated to DGHS.
  • Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/ College/University and come for admission with a certificate stating that “their original certificates are deposited with the Institute / College / University” will not be allowed to take admission in allotted Medical/Dental College.
  • Candidates are advised to keep with them a softcopy/hardcopy of all the submitted documents for their future requirements.

Note: – Before physically reporting to the institute, candidates should pay the first year course fees by RTGS/NEFT.

Amrita Rules for Admission Cancellation

If any candidate (General/NRI) cancels his/her admission after the 2nd round of counselling, for any reason, resulting in a vacant seat for the entire course duration even after mop-up round counselling by DGHS, then the entire fees paid/remitted will be non-refundable.

After all dues are cleared by the candidate, certificates submitted by him / her will be returned from Academics Office with Undertaking of Acknowledgement.

Qualification & Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Candidates must have secured a BDS degree recognised by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria: NEET MDS – 2021 qualified candidates who have been allotted to Amrita School of Dentistry by the MCC, New Delhi are eligible to report for admissions for the academic year 2021-22.
