BTech students at Amritapuri Campus qualify for the world finals of the globally most reputed computer problem solving and software programming contest, ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).

The ACM-ICPC World Finals will be conducted in June 22-26, 2014 in Russia. Amrita students’ made it to the world finals representing India.

In ACM-ICPC, Regional contests are held in a large number of countries, the finalists from which fight it out in the world finals. A team of students consisting of S. Kaushik, Krishnan Nakul, R. Prasanth and Sachith G. Pai of Amritapuri campus competed in the regional contests held at IIT Kharagpur and won the nomination to the world finals this year.

Incidentally, Amrita also has been holding regional contests for south Asia for the past 9 years. This year, Amrita’s regional contests became the largest among all regional centers all over the world.

In 2016, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is hosting the world finals at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi.

The student team mentored by Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, Director, Amrita Center for Cybersecurity and Vipin Pavithran, Assistant Professor, Amrita Center for Cybersecurity will be accompanied to the 38th Annual World finals of the ACM ICPC in Russia hosted by Ural Federal University.
