Amrita University was started by the world-renowned humanitarian leader, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma.

As Chancellor of the University, Amma continues to guide the university's mission and growth.

Recently Amma was in Delhi to inaugurate the Vivekananda International Foundation.

"Inspire youth through dialogues, not lectures," Amma stated in her inaugural address.

'A' Grade by NAAC

Amrita University is accredited with the highest grade of 'A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

The University has come to be known today as one of India's leading research and teaching universities.
