The researchers of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amritapuri Campus, attended the Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Exercise 2018, organized by The Southern Naval Command, Kochi, in coordination with several Central and State Government stakeholders, as part of the Annual Joint HADR Exercise, Chakravarth, from April 5-8, 2018. The theme of the event was “Joining Hands to Strengthen Kerala’s Disaster Resilience”.
The team from AmritaWNA showcased their research initiatives related to disaster management and risk reductions. The projects showcased by the researchers include “Oceannet – Affordable Wireless Communication and Emergency Services for Fishermen”, “Real-time Monitoring and Early Warning of Landslides” and “FloodEvac- On Urban Flood Monitoring using Crowdsourcing and Computer vision”.
