Athira Viswanathan, first year M. Tech. student at Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amritapuri, was selected by Tejas Networks, a telecom company in Bangalore, as an intern with a stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month. Tejas Networks is noted for its expertise in the areas of design, development and sales of high-performance telecommunication service providers, internet service providers, defence and government entities in over 60 countries.
“I have got this opportunity because I am a student of Amrita WNA. The valuable guidance from my faculty and the soft skill training from the placement department helped me to crack the test and interviews” said Athira.
Amrita WNA was launched in 2006 with a vision to promote the use of wireless technologies in a variety of fields that would benefit the society. The M.Tech program, which began in 2009 is built on a very successful joint project called WINSOC with about a dozen of international partners. The department offers Masters (M.Tech) and Phd programs
