Amrita student teams- “Paricharya” and “Vijayanta” from the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, won 2.25 Million Japanese Yen (Approx. 15 lakhs INR) towards participating in 2020 World Robot Summit to be held in Japan next year. The team “Paricharya” won 1 million JPY and the team “Vijayanta” won 1.25 million JPY.
Of 119 professional teams that applied from all over the world, Amrita’s two teams are the only teams from India to qualify for the finals. In October 2020, the team “Paricharya” will take part in the ‘Future Convenience Store Challenge’ while the team “Vijayanta” in the ‘Standard Disaster Robotic Challenge’. They will compete with top-class professional teams from all over the world.
The team “Paricharya” consisted of Akhil Tammana, Rohit Raj, Akhil Masetty, Nikhil Choudary, Vignesh S. N., Jahnavi Y. and Manaswini M. from Semester 8 of B. Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The team “Vijayanta” consisted of Nagasai C., Santosh T., Hemanth Surya, Rahul P., Naveen S., Sreevatsava M., Hemanth N., and Lokesh G. from Semester 6 of B. Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Both teams are guided by Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam, who heads the HuTs Lab and is an Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri.
