Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Director, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amritapuri campus and Dr. Shyam Diwakar, Director, Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology, Amritapuri, participated as Young Faculty Research Fellows of the Visvesvaraya PhD scheme by Digital India corporation under Ministry of Electronics and IT, Govt. of India, at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, from September 13-15, 2018. They were among the 100+ young faculty in India awarded with fellowships and the only two from Amrita with the MeitY fellowships. Both professors presented two years of achievements along with ongoing future directions at Amrita.
Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh presented on Amrita research projects related to the landslide detection and warning system at Sikkim, Kerala flood relief app, OceanNet smart system, smart microgrids for power in villages and wireless ECG system.
Dr. Shyam Diwakar presented on computational neuroscience, EEG based movement study, Gait prediction and ICT-related pedagogy studies at the meeting.
The nodal officer of Sir Visvesvaraya scheme at Amrita is Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan, Director of Center for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks and Amrita Technology Business Incubator (Amrita TBI) and Dean of PG Programs, School of Engineering, Coimbatore campus.
