The healthcare system in the country remains unable to meet the health needs of the population because of many related factors, most prominent one being that of acute shortage of skilled manpower. Availability of human resources at all levels of the healthcare system is extremely essential in moving towards the larger goal of Universal Health Coverage. Allied health professionals include individuals involved in the delivery of health or related services, with expertise in preventive, diagnostic, curative, therapeutic and/or rehabilitative interventions. They work in interdisciplinary health teams including physicians, nurses and public health officials to promote, protect, treat and/ or manage a person (‘s) physical, mental, social, emotional, environmental health and holistic well-being. Allied health professionals are defined and interpreted differently across the globe. Allied Health Professionals have a critical role and are the support pillars in the healthcare team. There are many professionals who are trained to handle specific health problems and provide their services in their area of expertise through comprehensive assessment and diagnosis and/or treatment to promote recovery and advance quality of life.

For all specialties, selection for candidates counseling/interview will be based on the rank obtained in the qualifying Entrance Examination. Allotment of seats for the shortlisted candidate will be based on the performance in the counseling/interview.
Results of the Entrance Examination will be published in the Health Sciences Campus, Kochi website under Admission Page, within two or three weeks from the date of the Examination under normal conditions. The details of the counseling schedule and admission instructions will also be published along with the results of the entrance exam on the website.
Out of total seats for all specialties, 50% seats will be allotted to the Merit category and 50% to the management category including NRI i.e. 15% of seats.
Once the results are published on the website, shortlisted candidates are requested to report for counseling/interview as per the list published on the website. Entrance exam results notification will be sent to your registered mobile number/ registered email id.
Candidates applying through agents/education counsellors using fraudulent means/ bribery/donations will be debarred to secure admission in any of the courses in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
Candidates are advised to frequently visit the admission page.
No separate call letters and intimation will be sent regarding dates of counseling / Admission. Candidates desirous of admission should report to the Chairman – Admissions (Medical) on the date/time and venue announced in the website.
All the shortlisted candidates need to strictly adhere to the instructions given in the website for counseling/interview and thereafter for completion of admission formalities.
At the end of each day’s counseling/interview, the balance of available seats will be updated on the website. Hence, candidates are therefore advised to keep visiting the Admission Page for all updates such as seat status, counseling schedule, admission instructions & guidelines, fee payment, etc.
If for any reason, this number is not in use/not reachable/switched off, Amrita University will not be in a position to communicate. Under this circumstances the candidate loses the possibility for attending/counselling/receiving critical information which may eventually lead to losing an opportunity to secure an admission.
Hence it is important for the candidate to register their commonly used mobile number/email id. Do not provide email id/mobile number of education counsellors/agents/internet café operators etc. The candidate is solemnly responsible for any negligence.
