Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Dean, International Programs and Director, Amrita Centre for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) represented Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at the ‘Future of Education Summit’ held in Noida on 7th April, 2017.
The inaugural session was presided over by imminent luminaries from the government and industry including: Shri. Manish Sisodia (Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi), Shri. T. S. R. The summit presented several panel discussions and presentations on numerous issues affecting the growth of the Indian education system, with a discussion focusing on the need for international tie-ups, partnerships and Ed-tours. The panel was composed of Brian McElduff (Ambassador, Ireland to India), Stephen Borg (High Commissioner, Malta to India), Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh and Dr. Harbeen Arora (Chancellor, Rai University).
The discussion focused on the numerous ways Indian universities have benefitted immensely from international partnerships, and how future plans should focus on developing a curriculum that will help encourage international students to choose India as a destination for higher education.
“While publishing papers and conducting international conferences help in increasing academic visibility, exchange or study abroad programs boost visibility/representation of India’s vibrant academic community on a much larger scale,” said Dr. Maneesha.
