The students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham visited ten villages near our campus for conducting awareness classes and experiments promoting water sustainability and resilience, water recycling, water-borne diseases the use of safe drinking water etc. thereby achieving grassroot level social change. Change champions from within the communities were identified during these participatory activities to ensure the communities march towards water sustainability and resilience. More than 50 students visited these villages, conducted activity based awareness sessions using various experiments, activities, brainstorming sessions, projecting awareness videos, etc. and also trained the community members in mapping their water sources and testing quality of their water sources by themselves.
