On International Yoga Day, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (AmritaCREATE) is organizing virtual yoga classes through the AmritaRITE Education Centers at Amma’s adopted villages in 28 states, where students under the guidance of their teachers will practice yoga at home. Dasharth, Amrita Education Coordinator, said, “After that, we came to know about this day and the importance of Yoga; from then onwards, we celebrate this day every year. In today’s fast-moving world, people don’t get time for Yoga or for any exercise. But Yoga is very important in our day-to-day life, and it has to be done every day. By doing so, we can keep our mind and body fit. By Yoga, we can avoid diabetes, stress, and gaining weight.” Practicing yoga promotes good health and well-being serving as a pathway to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3.
