A meeting was arranged by IEEE-PES and IAS joint Student Branch Chapter, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, on August 3, 2016, aimed at planning the agenda for next six months. The meeting was witnessed by the IEEE-PES and IAS joint Student Branch Chapter members, Advisor, Dr. K. Deepa and Dr. Shankar S., Assistant Professors, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ASE, Bengaluru.
The students from SAEINDIA Collegiate Chapters of Amrita School of Engineering in Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore campuses qualified for the main BAJA SAEINDIA 2016, which will be held later this year.
On the occasion of ‘International Yoga Day’, the 1st year students of the Amrita MBA Program, Kochi, participated in the event organized at Regional Sports Centre, Kochi. The program was inaugurated by Union Minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir and attended by people from all walks of life.
A seminar titled, “Overview of Aircraft Electrical Systems”, was arranged by IEEE-PES and IAS joint student branch chapter, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, on July 22, 2016. The guest speaker was Mr. P. V. R. Saikiran, scientist at CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), India. The event was attended by the students of BTech and MTech of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

With the noble intention of reviving the art of public speaking and helping students cope with the increasing competition in the corporate world, the Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR) at the Coimbatore campus, organizes a public speaking contest for third-year engineering students every year. The event this year was held on 12th April, 2016, at Amriteswari Hall.
The MBA students of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore from Class of 2016 visited Moksha Griha, a crematorium in Coimbatore as a part of the curriculum of Service Operations Management course.
Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore organized Pragati 2016, its 18th national level annual b-fest at the campus on January 23rd and 24th, 2016. The fest emphasized the ‘eco-friendly’ messages of its Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi and focused on the theme ‘BUSINESS IN GREEN’.
