In an intercollegiate rapid style chess tournament held at Kollam on December 9th, 2018, the Amrita chess team, comprising of four players, grabbed second prize which included Rs. 3000 cash prize, trophies and certificates.

Respiratory Therapy from Amrita Centre for Allied Health Sciences have bagged several prizes in the intercollegiate competitions conducted as a part of the 12th National Annual Conference of Indian Association of Respiratory Care (RESCARE ’18), held at Narayana Health City, Bangalore, from October 11-14, 2018.
The first year students Vijith, Sarath, Rahul and Monikesh of School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, won the second prize in the marketing game held as part of ‘Ascend 2k18’, the 21st National Management Fest, organized by the Department of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Calicut.

Menon, first-year postgraduate trainees from the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Amrita School of Dentistry, Kochi, won the best poster award at the First Zonal Conference (South) of Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) held at Chennai from August 10 – 11, 2018.
Adarsh P.S., a student from the Department of Commerce & Management, School of Arts & Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, won the Gold Medal in the National Muay Thai Championship 2018 held from September 28-October 1, 2018.
Mr. Aaryan Oberoi, an undergraduate student (VII Semester) from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus, was the only student who has been selected from the state of Karnataka to participate in the Mobile Robotics Skill at India Skills South 2018.
The third-year B.Tech. students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, were awarded the first runner-up in the ‘Wear Your Smarts’- a national level hackathon organized by Titan Company Limited.
The students of School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, were awarded the second prize in the Python Innovation Day – Intel Python Hack Fury by Intel Software. The event was held at IISER Pune from September 6-7, 2018.
