IEEE PES and IAS joint student branch chapter of Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, conducted an interesting and interactive session on timely research topics onOctober 6, 2016. The event concentrated on hybrid vehicles and ECIF on gadgets.
Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, hosted a student outreach program on behalf of Amrita Networking Club to make students aware of concepts of networking. Students and teachers from The Kendriya Vidyalaya, DRDO branch were invited to attend the event. A total of 42 students of PUC 2nd year and 4 teachers attended the event with great interest.
An interesting and entertaining technical quiz titled, ‘Techathon’, was held on October 4, 2016, jointly by IEEE-WIE (student affinity group) and IEEE-PES and IAS student branch joint chapter of Amrita school of Engineering, Bengaluru.

IEEE PES Bangalore Chapter organized a seminar on ‘Energy Management and Audit’ on September 30 , 2016, in Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru. The talk was delivered by Dr. Rajashekar P. Mandi, Director, School of Electrical& Electronics Engineering, Reva Institute of Technology.
An event titled, “Design of Things”, was arranged by IEEE-PES and IAS joint student branch chapter, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, on September 21, 2016.
The Formula category racing car designed and built by students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has won multiple awards, including the National Award for ‘Best Appearance at SUPRA 2016, a national engineering contest organised by SAE India. The car also received third place overall and bagged the second prize in design and cost estimation categories.
A seminar titled, “Synchrophasor for Smart Grid Application”, was arranged by IEEE-PES and IAS joint student branch chapter, Amrita School of Engineering (ASE), Bengaluru on September 3, 2016. The guest speaker was Mr. Kaliappa, joint director, CPRI, Bangalore, India. The event was attended by the students of BTech and MTech of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Earlier this month, Dr. Bodo Eickhoff, Senior Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at Molecular Diagnostics, a large multi-national pharmaceutical company, visited the Amrita Vishwa Viyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, and addressed the students, faculty, and staff in a seminar titled “Integrating Sciences from a Holistic Perspective: How Human Microbiome and Soil Food Web Might Work Together”.
