RoboCon18 is an international robotic design contest, and was held at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, from August 6-18, 2018.

Nair, Vice Chairperson and Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, was appointed as Treasurer for the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Coimbatore Chapter, on July 31, 2018.
The one-day workshop on “Earthquake Hazard, Risk and Mitigation: Theory and Practice”, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, was inaugurated on August 10, 2018 at the campus.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham students were selected to participate in the European Mars Rover Challenge (ERC), one of the biggest international space and robotics event in the world. The competition will take place in Starachowice, Poland from September 14-16, 2018.
