On September 7, 2019, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, celebrated its graduation day in the presence of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), Chief Guest Prof. Hemantha Kumar (Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore) and Guest of Honor, Dr. G. M. Nair (Secretary, Government of Kerala, India).
The convocation ceremony for School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, was held on August 30, 2019.
The 16th Convocation of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, was held on August 31, 2019. 1656 students from the disciplines of Engineering, Business, Arts & Sciences, Mass Communication and Social Work received their degrees. These included 15 PhDs and 60 medalists.
The World Sanskrit Day was marked on August 15, 2019, to celebrate the language of Sanskrit, a very ancient emergence from India. The School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, celebrated the day on August 22, 2019, with inaugural talks, exhibition, arts and cultural events.
The inauguration of the academic activities of the School of Arts & Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, for 2019 was held on June 26, 2019. The inauguration of Vidyamritam Extramural lectures (17th Annual Extramural Expert Lecture series) and activities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was also held on the same day.
The students of the Department of Visual Media and Communication, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, won first prize for their documentary ‘Prathichaya’ at the 12th International Documentary & Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) held at Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala, from June 21-26, 2019.
Dr. Sundararajan N, a retired Professor from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore conducted a two-day FDP on “Research Trends and Proposal Writing” on May 17, 2019, for the faculty members of the Department of Computer Science, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus.
Realizing that community-based activities play a huge role in the learning and skill development of student-teachers in the field of teacher education, the Department of Education, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, conducted a Community-Related Activities – Camp 2019, in a nearby underprivileged locality, Nanjarajanakatte, Roopa Nagara village, Bogadi, Mysuru., from April 26-27, 2019.
The Department of Visual Communication, School of Arts and Sciences, Mysuru campus, conducted “Pixel Kraft”: a Graphic Design and Portfolio Exhibition for the first time ever, which showcases the works of the final year B. Sc. (Visual Media) and MSc (Visual Communication) students.
Renowned Director and Producer, Kannada Film Industry, Shri B. Suresha, inaugurated Cinerama ’19, the National-level Short Film Festival, organised by Department of Visual Communication on 24th April, 2019 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus.
