In the recently held First International Symposium in Hospital Medicine at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences jointly organized with Mayo Clinic, USA, from December 4-6, 2015, Dr. Ajith V., Final-year MD Resident, Department of Emergency Medicine won the BEST RESEARCH PAPER award for his paper titled “Pharmacovigilance in Anti Snake Venom related Adverse Drug Reaction Assessment.”
The Society for Emergency Medicine India, (SEMI) full time member of International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM), has recognised the contributions made by Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in the field of Emergency Medicine and has given AIMS an award for Excellence in Emergency Medicine.
International Conference of Physician Assistants (IAPACON 2015) was organized at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciencesfrom October 10-11, 2015. The conference was organized by the Indian Association of Physician Assistants (IAPA) in association with International Academy of Physician Associate Educators (IAPAE) & Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS).
Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center(AIMS) has been awarded the coveted British Medical Journal Award 2015 for the Best Surgical Team of South Asia. The Amrita team won the award for its two successful double hand transplants. This is the second consecutive year that the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences received the BMJ Award. Its paediatric cardiology team won the award in 2014 for quality improvement in healthcare.

The Disaster Management Medical Team from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi departed for Rajasthan and Gujarat to extend all necessary medical aid to the needy patients in the flood affected areas. Ernakulam District Collector M. G. Rajamanickam flagged off the 25-member medical team on August 05, 2015.
Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi organized a consultation on “Problem of NTDs and other social issues pertaining to the migrant labour population of Kerala” in collaboration with UNICEF and Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment on June 26, 2015.
The first Amrita Craniofacial Surgery Symposium was held at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences from June 19 – 21, 2015. Jointly organized by the departments of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric Neurosurgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Amrita, the symposium focused on the comprehensive management of craniofacial deformities.
Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi has received the State Pollution Control Award 2015, under the Medical Colleges/Autonomous bodies category, instituted by Kerala State Pollution Control Board, on June 05, the world Environment Day.
