Amrita Surya Vahini- The Solar Auto Rickshaw built by the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus as part of their B.Tech. project.
With the support of M. A. Math, Amrita Centre for Nanosciences, Nano Solar Division at Amritapuri, has dedicated about 5000 sq. ft. of space for research in low cost solar modules: design, development and processing, as well as integrating these modules with storage of the generated power.
Dr. Shanmugha Sundaram G. A., Assistant Professor, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore campus was selected to present a paper titled Big-Data Perspective to Operating an SKA-Type Synthesis Array Radio Telescope at the XXIX General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to be held from August 3-14, 2015 at Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will now be able to access new technology after being named a CUDA Research Center by NVIDIA. With this Amrita will join Imperial College London, Purdue University, IIT Rourkee and others as a NVIDIA designated research center.
