The first International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Amrita Health Sciences Campus on June 20, 2015 to create awareness among students about the importance of Yoga.
Amrita School of Pharmacy organized a five day teacher training program as part of the quality improvement policy at the Kochi campus from June 9-13, 2015. The objective of the program was to empower teachers and to impart basic skills needed to become excellent teachers. The program started by lighting the lamp by Dr. Sabitha M. Principal, Amrita School of Pharmacy.
The Ninth Gold Medal Examination on Indian Culture and Values, with special focus on Chancellor Amma’s life and Her teachings, was conducted in March 2015 at Amrita Health Sciences Campus.
With the support of M. A. Math, Amrita Centre for Nanosciences, Nano Solar Division at Amritapuri, has dedicated about 5000 sq. ft. of space for research in low cost solar modules: design, development and processing, as well as integrating these modules with storage of the generated power.
The second successful twin-hand transplant in India was carried out in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi on 10th April 2015.
Sri. K. Babu, Honorable Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Excise, inaugurated the project ‘Vishukkaineettam Vrikshathaineettam’ by handing over a sapling to cine actress, Seema G. Nair on April 14, 2015 at Amrita Health Sciences Campus, Kochi. “This project envisaged by AMMA is a novel venture and a fine model for environmental protection,” said Sri K. Babu.
“Vishuthainettam” program was organized at Amrita School of Pharmacy on April 16, 2015. Sampoojya Swami Purnamritananda Puri, General Secretary, Mata Amritanandamayi Math graced the occasion.
