Amrita Center for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine (ACNSMM), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at Kochi, developed the first fully scalable process for making nano cloth and nano threads at rates up to several meters per minute.

The International Gita Chanting Event, initiated by Kurukshetra Development Board, on behalf of Haryana Govt., was conducted in a befitting manner at the Central Atrium of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences on December 10th, 2016. The idea was to chant Gita across the globe at one moment in time for strength and peace. The selected 18 slokas were chanted exactly at IST 6.00 p.m., one sloka from each of the eighteen chapters of Gita.
