The department of Orthodontics, Amrita School of Dentistry, Kochi, was awarded the best Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics Department of the year 2017, during the 10th International Dental Students Conference 2017, organised by Dental Students Welfare Association of India, hosted by St. Gregorios Dental College, Ernakulam, during December 15 – 16, 2017.

Jayakumar, Professor at the Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has received this award under the “Medical & Health Sciences” discipline. The awards were held at Sheraton, New Delhi, on November 3, 2017.
