Five years ago, a group of socially committed Amritians decided to conduct a cycle rally. This September 22nd, 2015 marked its 5th prolific edition. In the current juncture when the world is finding it difficult to cope with escalating air pollution, the event was really relevant. September 22nd is celebrated as “world car free day” and as a part of it, Amrita Sanjeevani, the seva organisation at Amritapuri Campus, conducted a cycle rally and 10 km fun run from Karunagapally to Amritapuri.

The students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus celebrated India’s 69th Independence Day on August 15 by conducting an Bharatam Cleanup Drive. The cleanup and awareness drive was organized by Amrita Sanjeevani- the Student Seva Association.
The first International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Amrita Health Sciences Campus on June 20, 2015 to create awareness among students about the importance of Yoga.
Amrita Sanjeevani, the student seva association of Amritapuri campus, organized a youth camp titled Sanjeevanam’15, at Attapadi during May 24-26, 2015. The camp provided a rich experience for all the participants, serving to expand their hearts and minds and leading them to discover a new kind of happiness.
The S2BCA students of the Department of Computer Science and Applications, Amritapuri campus organized a visit to Gandhi Bhavan old age home in Pathanapuram, Kollam District of Kerala on May 1, 2015.
Sri. K. Babu, Honorable Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Excise, inaugurated the project ‘Vishukkaineettam Vrikshathaineettam’ by handing over a sapling to cine actress, Seema G. Nair on April 14, 2015 at Amrita Health Sciences Campus, Kochi. “This project envisaged by AMMA is a novel venture and a fine model for environmental protection,” said Sri K. Babu.
“Vishuthainettam” program was organized at Amrita School of Pharmacy on April 16, 2015. Sampoojya Swami Purnamritananda Puri, General Secretary, Mata Amritanandamayi Math graced the occasion.
Two initiatives known as Vrukshakkani and Vishuthaineettam, envisaged by Chancellor Amma have been launched at Amrita as part of this year’s festival of Vishu to help foster love for nature in the hearts of the younger generations, and to teach them to protect and preserve nature.
The S4BCA students of Department of Computer Science and Applications recently found a creative way to conduct a fundraiser for Amrita Niketan, the orphanage and boarding school for disadvantaged children in Paripally, Kerala.
