On February 24, 2016, Dr. Shyam Diwakar of Amrita School of Biotechnology’s Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology Labs addressed students and faculty on how brain circuits function and how we study them as a multi-scale problem investigating neurons, circuits and behavior.

A two-day workshop on memory forensics, memory analysis, triage, and the workflow for live RAM analysis was held at the Amrita Center for Cyber Security Systems & Networks, Amrita University from February 11-12, 2016. The department of Visual Communication of School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus, organized a one- day national level short film festival and competition ‘Cinerama 2016’ for UG students of the campus on February 27, 2016.
Anokha 2016, the sixth National level Tech-Fest of Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, was held from the 18th to 20th February, 2016 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus. Anokha 2016 is the first techfest in India with United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) accreditation. The current year’s theme of the fest, “Sustainably Developed Technopolis”, was in line with UN Sustainable Developed Goals (SDG).
A talk on the relevance of IOT (internet of things) was organized by the IEEE PES and IAS Student Branch Chapter on 20th February, 2016, at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru.
On February 17, 2016, Dr. Mahesh Kappanayil, Senior Cardiologist from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, gave the students of Amrita School of Biotechnology (ASBT) an insightful view of how biotechnology and medicine overlap. Dr. Mahesh, a Pediatric Cardiologist, spoke to the audience at length about two of his most recent projects at AIMS.
Dr. K. P. Subbalakshmi, Professor, Stevens Institute of Technology (SIT), New York, United States, addressed the students and faculty members of Amrita Center for Cybersecurity Systems and Networks, Amritapuri Campus, via A-VIEW (Amrita Virtual Interactive e-Learning World) on October 14, 2015. The talk was titled “Challenges in Social Media Security and Forensics.”
Students from Spirituality Mind Body Institute, Columbia University, visited Amrita Darshanam-International Centre for Spiritual Studies at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for a ten day spiritual retreat during December 26, 2015 to January 6, 2016.
