Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, hosted Anokha 2017 on March 2-4, 2017. Anokha escalated the imagination of participants with over 10000+ footfalls, 75+ events, 30+ workshops, Lumiere premium lecture series showcasing success stories from all walks of life, Techexpo, Recess-school outreach and a whopping 15 lakhs in prize money. The theme of Anokha 2017 was Innovation and the focus was on leveraging innovation for societal benefit.

The Department of Cultural Education organized a day-long tour to the temple city of Madurai on 17 September, 2016. The purpose of the tour was to introduce the students to the rich cultural legacy of India through visits to important cultural and pilgrim centres. Madurai, the high seat of Pandiyan art, architecture, and culture, was chosen for the first visit, given its close proximity to Ettimadai campus.
In order to enhance the knowledge of our heritage and history amongst our student community, the Department of Cultural Education, Coimbatore campus, arranged a three day heritage tour to prominent cultural and religious sites in the state of Karnataka, during Yugadi (Ugadi) – the Telugu New Year.
The Department of Cultural Education conducted a one-day Symposium on Indian History and Culture on 23rd April 2016 at the Ettimadai campus. The symposium received an overwhelming response from the students and faculty community and recorded more than 400 participants. Amrita alumni, parents of students, and teachers and students from colleges and schools in and around Coimbatore also participated in this programme.
Anokha 2016, the sixth National level Tech-Fest of Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, was held from the 18th to 20th February, 2016 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus. Anokha 2016 is the first techfest in India with United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) accreditation. The current year’s theme of the fest, “Sustainably Developed Technopolis”, was in line with UN Sustainable Developed Goals (SDG).
