Having won a multi-million European-funded research project and in order to spend more time focusing on research and teaching, Dr. Amalendu Jyothishi, Professor and Chairman, Amrita School of Business (ASB) Ph.D. program has decided to step down from his responsibilities as the Chairman of the program.
The provisional result of the VIII Semester B.Tech.examinations conducted in May 2016 are announced by the Controller of Examinations of Coimbatore Campus.
In a two-day session held at the campus, Mr. Subramaniam Krishnan, Retired Advisor – Global Marketing, ExxonMobil Lubricants and Specialties, discussed various aspects of new product development, negotiation, and business metrics with Amrita School of Business (ASB), Coimbatore students from Class of 2017.
Fulfilling the mission of Education for Life, the students of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore visited Akshaya Trust in Madurai, spending a day with the inmates of the organization. CII Young Indians’ student network, active in the campus, organized the visit.
Sixteen students of Amrita School of Engineering were selected to Google Summer of Code’s and Outreachy project internships. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham nationally stands 3rd in the number of Google Summer of Code selects among other universities. Amrita is the youngest institution to reach the top three positions in the list. IIIT Hyderabad and BITS stood ahead of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
Dr. Sanjay Banerji, Founder Dean and Professor Emeritus, Amrita School of Business (ASB) Coimbatore was invited by Dr. Cecep Effendi, Director General, Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) to visit Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASBC) completed its summer placements for its entire batch of 128 students of Class of 2017, with manufacturing firms hiring the most number of students.
Dr. R. Raghu Raman, Chairman, Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, was invited to speak at the 2nd Asian Management Conclave (AMC), Singapore on March 7th-8th, 2016. The conference, organized by MBAUniverse.com and hosted by Singapore Management University (SMU), focused on the theme, ‘Enhancing Competitiveness of Asian B-schools’.
In order to enhance the knowledge of our heritage and history amongst our student community, the Department of Cultural Education, Coimbatore campus, arranged a three day heritage tour to prominent cultural and religious sites in the state of Karnataka, during Yugadi (Ugadi) – the Telugu New Year.
The Department of Cultural Education conducted a one-day Symposium on Indian History and Culture on 23rd April 2016 at the Ettimadai campus. The symposium received an overwhelming response from the students and faculty community and recorded more than 400 participants. Amrita alumni, parents of students, and teachers and students from colleges and schools in and around Coimbatore also participated in this programme.
