With the noble intention of reviving the art of public speaking and helping students cope with the increasing competition in the corporate world, the Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR) at the Coimbatore campus, organizes a public speaking contest for third-year engineering students every year. The event this year was held on 12th April, 2016, at Amriteswari Hall.
Prashanth Mohanasundaram of the department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, was the winner of the coveted TCS Best Student Award for the year 2016 and he secured this prize wining over eleven other nominations. He was awarded a Gold Medal, a certificate and cash prize at the function held on 22nd April, 2016, in the Muralikrishna Auditorium of CIR, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
Senior Scientist and Strategist Dr. Jayant Sathaye, who contributed to the 2007 Nobel Prize-winning reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), spoke on the topic ‘Understanding Climate Change to Limit Atmospheric Temperature Increase and Impact on Utilities’ at Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore on June 11, 2016.
A two-day national workshop focusing on issues and difficulties faced by women-headed families, sponsored by the National Commission for Women, was held at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham from June 14-15, 2016.
Amrita School of Business (ASB) has inaugurated its 21st batch of full-time MBA program (Class of 2018) at Amriteshwari Hall in the campus on 6 June 2016. Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore organized Pragati 2016, its 18th national level annual b-fest at the campus on January 23rd and 24th, 2016. The fest emphasized the ‘eco-friendly’ messages of its Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi and focused on the theme ‘BUSINESS IN GREEN’.
