The 13th convocation of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore was held on 21 August 2016. On the occasion, MBA and Ph.D. degrees were conferred upon 74 students from Class of 2016.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapetham, in collaboration with SAARC Countries and Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), conducted an expert consultation meeting on “Assessment of the Role of Agro-processing as a Key Component of Rural Mass Employment and Rural Development Models” at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapetham, Coimbatore on 18th-19th August, 2016.
A national seminar titled “Design of Curriculum for Sustainable and Societal Development” was held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus on 12th and 13th August, 2016. Over 150 higher education experts from all over India participated in the event that was sponsored by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Salesmanship is an art. It is a must for any management graduate to acquire the skill before venturing into the industry. Mr. Roger A. Kessinger, Chief Executive Officer, Kessinger Publishing, LLC delivered a two-hour session on the topic at the Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore.
Dr. Ram. R. Bishu, Professor, Department of Mechanical and Material Engineering, University of Nebraska – Lincoln, also the Education Chair, American Society for Quality, conducted the “Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training and Certification” for second year MBA students of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore.

The students from SAEINDIA Collegiate Chapters of Amrita School of Engineering in Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore campuses qualified for the main BAJA SAEINDIA 2016, which will be held later this year.
Amrita Centre for Entrepreneurship (ACE), Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, successfully concluded its first month-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on 27th June, 2016. The programme, organized by ACE, CIR, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, was sponsored by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, and routed via Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI), Ahmedabad.
Amrita Alumnus Santosh Nanduru, (BTech Degree in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science,2013, Coimbatore campus), is one of those making an impact. He is Regional Head of Just for Kicks, which he helped elevate from a pilot project to a successful organization making a big change in children’s lives.
An MBA student of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, Vignesh Viswanathan, Class of 2017, won the second place under ‘Best Presentation-Manufacturing’ category, for his presentation “Process Design for Reducing Customer Returns of Castings” at a workshop organized by Indian Statistical Institute, Coimbatore. Titled “Smart Solutions to Wicked Problems”, the workshop focused on statistical techniques for business process improvements and was held at Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
