A paper titled “Small Signal Modeling of Gas Turbine Plant for Load Frequency Control” authored by S. Selvakumar and Dr. S. Balamurugan of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore Campus, received the Best Paper Award in the IEEE Biennial International Conference on Power and Energy Systems towards Sustainable Energy (PESTSE – 2016) held at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru during January 21-23, 2016.
The original research by Dr. R. Venkitachalam, Second-year Postgraduate Resident in Public Health Dentistry, Amrita School of Dentistry, was awarded Best Scientific Paper Award at the 3rd National Conference of the Forum of Ethics Review Committees in India (FERCI) held at Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Postgraduate Medical Sciences, Lucknow from December 10-11, 2015.

An Amrita paper titled, “Design of Spider Mechanism for Extraterrestrial Rover”, won the best paper award at the 2nd International Conference on Emerging Trends in Mechanical Engineering (ICETME – 2015) organized by the department of Mechanical Engineering, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST), Ernakulam, Kerala from September 3-5, 2015.
The work entitled “Effect of Cristallinity of Nb2O5 Electron Blocking Layer in Dye Sensitized Solar Cells” won the best poster award in the Physical Sciences section, at the 102nd Indian Science Congress (ISC) 2015. The award carries prize money of Rs.5, 000/- besides a Certificate of Merit. The conference was held at the University of Mumbai from January 3-7, 2015.
