Amrita School of Biotechnology PhD students Arathi Rajendran and Sandeep Bodda participated at the 4th IBRO-APRC Bangalore Cognition Workshop held at Bengaluru, India from June 19-July 2, 2016.
Dr. Raimo Kantola, Professor of Networking Technology, Department of Communications and Networking, Aalto University (Finland), visited the Amritapuri, Coimbatore, and Kochi campuses in early 2016.
After 6 days of rigorous training, Amritapuri MBA alumnus, Sreenath Njaneswar, was certified as an Entrepreneurship Trainer by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). High potential and high performance entrepreneurs and employees of large public and private firms are selected through an interview process. The ETW is based on a behavioural approach to entrepreneurship. Lectures, films, exercises, role-play and business creations and competitions all form part of the program.
On 12th July 2016, Sri Ashutosh Chadha, VP and Head- Corporate Affairs, Wipro Ltd., inaugurated the Amrita MBA Corporate Connect Initiatives at Amritapuri Campus. In a talk that covered the gamut of management activities Shri Ashutosh emphasised the importance of ethics and teamwork in managerial success.

The Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham MBA Programme and the Center for Economic Fragility & Governance (CEFg), Amritapuri campus, jointly organized a Seminar on Diet Quality, Child Health, and Food Policies in Developing Countries on 18th June, 2016, in Amritapuri. The invited speaker for the event was Dr. Alok Bhargava, Professor, School of Public Policy, University of Maryland, USA.
Dr. Asoke Banerji, Distinguished Professor, Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amritapuri, was nominated to The American Chemical Society, one of the world’s oldest, most trusted, and prestigious scientific societies. To become a member of the American Chemical Society, the person has to be nominated by two current members.
20th June, 2016 witnessed the inaugural function of the 2016-18 MBA batch – the 8th batch to join the Amrita MBA programme at Amritapuri campus.
