On August 6, 2018, a new batch of students was inducted into the Amrita Master of Social Work program at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus. Offered by India’s only UNESCO Chair in Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, the Amrita MSW is a two-year full-time residential program which offers world-class opportunities in the field of Social Work.
Online Labs (OLabs), one of the research initiatives of Amrita Center for Research in Analytics & Technologies for Education (AmritaCREATE), in collaboration with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has reached almost two lakh students across the country.

K., Research scholar of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has been invited by Amrita’s collaborating partner Università Roma Tre, Rome, Italy, to work on the project entitled “IoT Framework for Modeling, Monitoring and Damage Detection of Natural and Historical Heritage Structures”.
The Stanford University’s 2018 FabLearn Global Excellence Practitioner Award has been awarded to Akshay Nagarajan, Researcher at AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in recognition of his achievements and efforts to advance maker education and for his exemplary commitment to outreach, connecting communities and bringing equity to education in the rural communities in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.
