The Stanford University’s 2018 FabLearn Global Excellence Practitioner Award has been awarded to Akshay Nagarajan, Researcher at AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in recognition of his achievements and efforts to advance maker education and for his exemplary commitment to outreach, connecting communities and bringing equity to education in the rural communities in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.

In a joint team effort, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA), Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center and Boston University Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, have developed a smart data summarization technique for IoT devices and gateways.
Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Director, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amritapuri, attended the “Regional Workshop on Mainstream Climate Change in Disaster Risk with Reference to Glacial Lake Outburst Flood(GLOF) and Forest Fire” at Sikkim, Himalayas, held at Gangtok from May 8-9, 2018.
Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications'(AmritaWNA) M. Tech. students: Anju Murali, Guru Prasad, Urmila M. S., T. Aishwarya Lakshmi, Athira Vinod and Harish Ravichandran, have secured internships at WABCO India, Ignitarium, Dell EMC, Oracle and Nokia respectively.
The three final-year B.Tech students, led by their professor, Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam, Director, have developed a self-driving wheelchair, “Self-E”, that can safely take a user from one point to another by navigating its own path and avoiding obstacles on the way.
