Amrita Darshanam, International Center for Spiritual Studies, organised an invited talk on ‘The Philosophy of Indian Art’ on January 29, 2019. The session was handled by Dr. Satavadhani R. Ganesh, a renowned Sanskrit poet and a master of Avadhāna – an ancient art form of literary performance.
Dr. Vandana K. Vasudevan, third year PG Scholar from the Department of Prasutitantra and Streeroga, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, won first prize for presenting scientific paper at “Prajnanam 2019” – National Seminar on Management of Infertility in Ayurveda, organised by Amrita School of Ayurveda from February 1-2, 2019.

A project for portable water purifiers under the Jivamritam: Clean Drinking Water Project, the joint project of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, the Consulate General of Israel to South India, Bangalore, and Tel Aviv University, was inaugurated at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, on January 21, 2019.
In an intercollegiate rapid style chess tournament held at Kollam on December 9th, 2018, the Amrita chess team, comprising of four players, grabbed second prize which included Rs. 3000 cash prize, trophies and certificates.

The ACM ICPC 2018 Asia-Amritapuri Multi-site Regional Contest was held on December 29, 2018, at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri and Coimbatore campuses This years’ ICPC Asia-Amritapuri multi-site regional contest witnessed more than 275 teams from premier institutions like IITs, IIITs, NITs and IISc from India and Bangladesh.
PhD scholars at Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA) Mr. Ram Kumar and Ms. Uma Gopalakrishnan published a research work titled “Multiparty Gaze Preservation through Perspective Switching for Interactive eLearning Environments” in the Springer Journal ”Multimedia Tools and Applications” with an Impact factor of 1.5.
