Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications (AmritaWNA) Ph. D. scholar Rahul Krishnan, was in Kyoto, Japan, presenting his Ph. D. work at the IEEE PerCom (Pervasive Computing and Communication) Conference 2019, from March 11-15, 2019.
International Women’s Day was celebrated at the School of Pharmacy, Amrita Health Sciences campus, Kochi, on March 12, 2019, for acknowledging the vast group of women present at the school as students, teachers and other supporting faculty members.
Dravya Prabodhani Series – Second in the Series, Dr. Ajith M., Microbiologist, Amrita School of Biotechnology, was the invited speaker. The topic presented was ‘Biomimmicry’. THe program was attended by Dravya Guṇa Vijnāna PG Scholars and Dravyam UG batch.
Dr. Sujithra M., PG Scholar, Dept. of Dravya Guna Vijnana, School of Ayurveda, won the first prize in poster presentation in International Ayush Conclave, Thiruvananthapuram, conducted on February 18, 2019.
The student team of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, bagged the first prize in Group Music (Indian) at the 34th Inter-University South Zone Youth Festival 2018 “Padmotsav” held from October 7-11, 2018, in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. South Zone comprises of over 100 universities in the region.
Dr. P. Rammanohar, Research Director of Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda at School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has been appointed as Member of Scientific Advisory Committee of National Institute of Ayurveda, an autonomous organisation under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
Dr. P. Rammanohar, Research Director of Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda at School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has been appointed in the Three Member Committee of the World Health Organization for drafting International Terminology of Ayurveda for inclusion in the International Classification of Diseases – ICD-11.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, faculty members from the School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, delivered awareness classes on March 8, 2019.
In another stellar display of the academic excellence of Amrita, Mr. Karthik Rajamanickam, a first year MA Philosophy student of Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies, has won top honors in a nation-wide essay competition for young scholars conducted by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) on the topic “Equality and Justice for Conducive Social Order”.
Ms. Elena Santoro, a first year MA Philosophy student from Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies has secured the third prize in a national level painting competition titled ‘Story on Canvas’, organized by Nav Shri Art & Culture organization, New Delhi. The judges of the contest have found her canvas, titled ‘Beyond the Battle’ to be an extraordinary work of art that captured the spirit of Bhagavad Gita.
