The day commenced with the lighting of the lamp by each of the new students and placing it at the feet of the statue of Saraswati Devi, Goddess of knowledge, an age-old tradition symbolizing the absence of darkness and ignorance in the light of knowledge.
An Amrita delegation visited Northern Illinois University near Chicago, USA, on July 11, 2019. The University at Illinois already had hosted Amrita students and will be planning joint engagements including internship opportunities in USA for Amrita students.

Dr. Maanasi Madhavan Menon, Associate Professor at School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham since February 2014, was invited by the Agnivesha Ayurveda Anushtana , Bengaluru, to talk about her article on “Hypertension in Ayurveda” and to share some of her clinical experiences.
