In the 77th Annual Conference of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOC 2019) held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh from February 14 – 17, 2019, Dr. Meenakshi Y. Dhar, Professor of Ophthalmology, School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, bagged the best poster award in Glaucoma for her poster titled “Ocular Blood Flow Characteristics of Open Angle Glaucoma Patients on Doppler Imaging.”
Dr. Radhamany K., Professor and Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, was awarded “Best Professor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Studies” in the 11th Innovative Education Leadership Awards held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai on February 16, 2019.
In the 74th Annual Conference of the Association of Physicians of India (APICON 2019) held in Kochi, during February 7 – 10, 2019, Dr. Rajesh G., Professor of Gastroenterology, Amrita School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, was conferred the Fellowship of the Indian College of Physicians.

Dr. Anisha Ashokan, second year MD Resident in Microbiology, School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, won the ‘Best Poster Award’ in the CME on “Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance” at Government Medical College, Palakkad, held on February 2, 2019.
After being referred post-haste from hospitals across the state including Palakkad, Perinthalmanna and Kochi, four patients have successfully undergone surgery for the repair of Type A aortic dissection at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences within a span of just 10 days (January 03 – 12, 2019).
Mr. Pramod Lakshman Mahajan, a 67 year old organ donation campaigner, was felicitated on January 7, 2019, at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) through a flag-off ceremony for the next phase of his nationwide motorcycle tour to promote awareness on organ donation.
