A four-day workshop on Temple Architecture and Iconography (Level 2) was conducted by Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies (ICSS) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus, October 17-20, 2019. It came as a follow-up to the Three-day Temple Workshop (Level 1), which was organized by the Centre in January 2019.

In another stellar display of the academic excellence of Amrita, Mr. Karthik Rajamanickam, a first year MA Philosophy student of Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies, has won top honors in a nation-wide essay competition for young scholars conducted by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) on the topic “Equality and Justice for Conducive Social Order”.
Ms. Elena Santoro, a first year MA Philosophy student from Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies has secured the third prize in a national level painting competition titled ‘Story on Canvas’, organized by Nav Shri Art & Culture organization, New Delhi. The judges of the contest have found her canvas, titled ‘Beyond the Battle’ to be an extraordinary work of art that captured the spirit of Bhagavad Gita.
Throwing light on the intellectual legacy of ancient India, a three-day national seminar on “Texts and Manuscripts of Vedic Corpus: Sources of Indian Knowledge Traditions” was conducted at the Mysuru campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham by Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies between 9th and 11th February, 2019.
Amrita Darshanam, International Center for Spiritual Studies, organised an invited talk on ‘The Philosophy of Indian Art’ on January 29, 2019. The session was handled by Dr. Satavadhani R. Ganesh, a renowned Sanskrit poet and a master of Avadhāna – an ancient art form of literary performance.
In the session organized by Amritadarshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies in association with AYUDH Amritapuri chapter, Shatavadhani Dr. R. Ganesh explored the meaning of the name Krishna and illustrated Krishna’s role as a social reformer.
