MSW Students and members from Ammachi Labs and the Center for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality were treated to an inspiring talk and interactive session by Dr. Irna van der Molen, Scientific Director at Reliefbase Foundation and policy advisor at the University of Twente, Netherlands.
The Stanford University’s 2018 FabLearn Global Excellence Practitioner Award has been awarded to Akshay Nagarajan, Researcher at AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in recognition of his achievements and efforts to advance maker education and for his exemplary commitment to outreach, connecting communities and bringing equity to education in the rural communities in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.
Sreeram Kongeseri, a PhD student, along with the researchers of AMMACHI Labs (Amrita Multi Modal Applications Using Computer & Human Interaction), developed a board game, ‘ Aadarsh Gaon’, that provides a way for players to build an ideal community through social problem-solving.
Mr. Jose James, Senior Researcher at AMMACHI (Amrita Multi Modal Applications Using Computer & Human Interaction) Labs’ Haptics team, and a Research Fellow at the University of Sannio, Italy, attended the IEEE International Symposium on Medical Measurements & Applications 2018 (MeMeA2018) held at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, from June 11-13, 2018.
The engineers at AMMACHI Labs (Amrita Multi-Modal Applications Using Computer & Human Interaction) were at L&T Construction Skills Training Institute in May, 2018, to launch their Bar Bending V2 simulator and train the trainers of the Institute on how to teach bar bending skills through the simulator.
Sooraj Subrahmanyan of AMMACHI Labs presented a paper titled “Pluralism and Coexistence in Dharma Tradition” at the 4th International Dharma-Dhamma Conference on “State and Social Order in Dharma Dhamma Traditions” at Nalanda University, Rajgir, Bihar.
A twelve member delegation from Hunan Xiangtan University and Hunan Xiangtan Daonan Academy, located in the Hunan District in China, visited the Kochi and Amritapuri campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, on December 17-18, 2017.
