Dr. Rakesh P. S., Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi, has been invited by Harvard University as a visiting scientist in the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health in Boston, USA, effective July 1st, 2017.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, Kollam, received the State Pollution Control Award 2017, instituted by the Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), on 7th June, 2017, as a part of the World Environment Day celebrations. The award was presented by the Minister for Industries, Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri. A.C. Moideen at IMG Hall, Trivandrum.
As a part of the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY), Dr. Kalamandalam Rachita Ravi performed at the Amrita School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri, on 15th June 2017, from 6 pm to 8 pm.SPIC MACAY, a nationwide voluntary movement, organises programmes of classical music and dance, folk arts, crafts, yoga, classic cinema screenings, heritage walks, etc., at schools and colleges, throughout the world, so as to make the students aware about Indian and World Heritage.
The research article titled, “A Comparative Study on Decomposition of Test Signals Using Variational Mode Decomposition and Wavelets” has been selected as Editor’s Choice of the year 2016 under the category of Information Technology by the International Journal on Electrical Engineering and Informatics.
