Inauguration of Academic Activities for 2016 – 2017, 14th Series of Annual Extramural Expert Lecture Sessions, Vidyamritam and the CSR initiatives for 2016 were conducted on July 28, 2016 at School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus.

A seminar titled, “Propulsion Equipment for Indian Railway”, was arranged by IEEE-PES and IAS joint Student Branch Chapter of Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, on July 28, 2016. The event was attended by the students of B.Tech and M.Tech of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Amrita School of Biotechnology welcomed its new batch of students in a unique induction program titled “SWAGATHAM 2016″ on July 27, 2016. The new students were greeted with a traditional welcome from their seniors, after which they each lit a deepam, signifying the light of knowledge, to be placed at the feet of Saraswati Devi, the Goddess of Learning.

AmritaCREATE conducted workshops on Online Labs in Andhra Pradesh on 23rd and 24th of June, 2016. More than hundred teachers from rural schools were trained during these two days.

National Plastic Surgery Day was observed with various events at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences on July 15, 2016. Activities included performing pooja to the statue of Saint Sushrutha, Father of Plastic Surgery, situated in the hospital premises and an exhibition.

The event was attended by the students of BTech and MTech of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
