Directorate of admission and academic outreach conducted the One-day Internship program for National Model Senior Secondary School, Coimbatore at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus on March 16. There were 113(58 boys,55 girls) students and 5 staffs.
The Group arrived at our campus by 10 am. The program began with a formal inauguration at 10.05am, by Br. Maheshwara Chaithanya( Director of Admissions), Dr.Soman K P( Dean, School of Artificial Intelligence, Coimbatore campus) and Ms. Lidiya (co-ordinator, National Model School)
After the inaugural session, A campus tour was organized at 10.30 am. The students saw the Aerospace labs, followed by the mechanical engineering labs. These were thoroughly enjoyed by the students. Students also witnessed the Library and swimming pool. After the campus tour Dr Soman K P (Dean, School of Artificial Intelligence, Coimbatore campus) addressed the students and gave them an introduction to the world of Artificial Intelligence. Dr Sachin Kumar S ( Center for Computational Engineering and Networks (CEN), Coimbatore campus), conducted a session on Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (Medical Engineering). Dr. Murali & Dr. Sai Sundara Krishna interacted with students and cleared their queries.
Ms. Lakshmi ( Assistant Manager, Career Counselling) thanked all the Students and teachers present. The Students and the Co-Ordinator highly appreciated the One-Day Internship program. For students ,it was there first time visiting a university. They gained a practical insight into different areas of study in Higher Education and were introduced to the programs and courses being offered by the university. Ater lunch group leave the campus by 2.30 pm.
