Studying in Data Science course in Amrita has widened my perspective and has given me an idea of importance of the data and its necessity in today’s day and age. The faculties are very helpful and always present to clear our doubts in order to lead us in the right path, although we have weekend classes. Having studied here for 1.5 years, my interest in the subject has deepened.
This course helped us to grasp both mathematical and programming facets of data science and gave us a broad over view of the data science field itself. The exposure to R, STATA and real time case studies enabled us to be industry relevant. The course also honed our skills on the software side by introducing us to latest big data technologies.
Study at University of L’Aquila (Univaq) was an experience on a different level. Professors have immense knowledge of the subjects and provide the required guidance, if not more. My knowledge and interest in the field of Software Architecture grew manifold with my stint at Univaq. I am very happy that Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham provides its students the opportunity to visit and study in foreign universities. The student is able to exchange ideas and develop various skills and values. It is truly a one of a kind dual-degree program!
I recommend this course to all data enthusiasts who like to convert skill sets from a traditional statistician/ analyst to a data scientist and understand the insights systematically rather than following the commercial analytical software blindly. I am a Master’s student at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore. I got an opportunity to do a dual degree (MS in Computer Science) at University of L’Aquila, Italy, through I2cost Programme. I have started my curriculum here in Italy and my experience so far has been incredible. The University of L’Aquila offers a variety of subjects with very skilled professors. The courses are designed in such a manner to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge. The projects that we get to work on are real time requirements provided by renowned companies such as Micron, Microsoft and IBM. Meeting and collaborating with a lot of international students is helping me gain both technical and cultural values. The university also provides me a grant of 850 euros to support my stay here in Italy. In addition to this, the city as such is a very beautiful place with a lot of greenery and mountains.
