The department through its placement coordinator and faculty-industry collaborations offer placement assistance for students. Internship is an integral and mandatory component of both BA and MA Mass Communication programmes. Both programmes require a semester long intense internship where the students get to work in media houses/ media industry and are exposed to the professional life beyond university. Many of our students, present and alumni, have landed their first jobs through internships where they get absorbed by the organizations following the internship.
Our alumni have made their mark and continue to do so in various occupational fields across media platforms. The department nurtures a live and active network with its alumni who are ever ready to extend their mentorship to the students of the department through the Alma Base program. Many alumni who are entrepreneurs have also come forward to offer job opportunities for the students.
Internships are an integral and essential part of both UG and PG programmes. Internships at Media houses/ reputed firms/established organizations, provide practical exposure and extend advanced skill sets for students and are major opportunities for student placements and career growth. Students must go through an internship project for a period of 4 to 5 months in their final semester (6th semester for UG & 4th semester for PG).
