Vision

  • To investigate the pulsatile blood flow in human large arteries with and without external magnetic fields.
  • To investigate the enhancement of heat transfer in oscillatory flow of liquid metals, visco-elastic fluids and nano-fluids, with and without applied magnetic field,

    Mission

    • To study the influence of hematocrit level, longitudinal movement on the hemodynamic wall parameters
    • To study the enhancement of heat transfer in counter-oscillating flow of liquid metals with and without external magnetic fields.

      Proposed initiative

It is proposed to carry out the problems proposed in the mission to meet the challenges of the vision mentioned above. One of the faculty members (Dr. P. Puvaneswari) may take up projects from ISRO as she is presently guiding a part-time candidate who is a doctorate in metallurgical engineering working as a scientist in ISRO, Nagerkoil. They may take up work on heat transfer related problems involved in the welding of various components. Dr. K. Gayathri is currently working on blood flow with micro-rotation considering blood as a micropolar fluid along with her PhD scholar.
