Abstract : Abstract Valuation of wetland has always remained a challenge for the empirical, environmental and ecological economists. Major difficulty confronted in the valuation process is the involvement of non-market variables in these ecosystems. These ecosystems provide a large number of services and goods to the society at large, and therefore valuation of the gains from the system are most needed. In that case the methods of valuation have to be indirect, based on choices and preferences revealed by the stakeholders.
