Abstract : Vermicomposting uses earthworms and other microorganisms to digest organic wastes. Vermicomposting is faster than traditional composting methods. Vermicomposting is an easy way to make a positive environmental impact by reducing the amount of green-waste that finds its way into landfills, incinerators. The resulting nutrient-rich compost endproduct is an environmentally sound amendment to enrich soil for plant growth. The vermicompost is an eco-friendly, economically viable and ecologically sound that also played a significant role in soil biology, chemistry and physics. Vermicompost makes nutrient supply in crop system economically viable, environmental friendly and socially acceptable without affecting the gross plant production. Soil fertility can be managed in complete harmony with sustainable agriculture development by careful analysis of current issues of sustainable land productivity.
