Abstract : The future trend of transportation is electric, here this work emphasizes on design and simulation of Vehicle to Grid (V2G) and Grid to Vehicle (G2V) operation of a Bi-directional Interleaved DC-DC Converter. The rapid increase in the advancement of electric vehicle in the transportation sector might increase the peak demand in the current grid structure and hence V2G power conversion becomes much crucial to handle the sudden surplus increase in energy demand. The proposed topology consists of two parts: (1) bi-directional AC-DC converter (2) BIC. Compared to the other bi-directional operation this design produces the less ripple in the output and input currents which increases the efficiency of the charger. The proposed design and control is validated by MATLAB/Simulink, in both G2V and V2G operations.
