Abstract : Keeping a track of disasters is very important to alleviate their effects, destruction caused on the environment and human population, this can be eased by employing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), furnished with cameras that yield photos of the areas of interest. Fleeting growth in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles in distinctive fields has pushed towards exploring possible benefits by deploying them in disaster management. UAVs helps in setting up communication network between victims, survivors and designated rescue team. This paper highlights the communication technologies that can give rise to UAV disaster management systems including early warning system, emergency communication, and image processing, and presents our preliminary work to demonstrate the benefits of UAV systems.
