Abstract : In this paper, the design of a front end array for active antenna applications using metamaterial for usage in the terahertz frequency range is discussed. A brief analysis of the scattering parameters, dispersion curves and radiation patterns is done for composite right/left handed (CRLH) transmission line metamaterials that have a metal-dielectric-metal (MDM) layered configuration as their unit cell structure. An array of the same in one and two dimensions is analyzed in order to determine its electromagnetic properties. © 2015 IEEE.
