Abstract : We report a 40-year-old man with Takayasu arteritis involving the abdominal aorta, who presented with chronic mesenteric ischemia. The diagnosis was made by aortogram, which showed tight superior mesenteric artery (SMA) stenosis. The patient underwent successful balloon angioplasty of the SMA following corticosteroid treatment. He is asymptomatic 9 months later; repeat aortogram showed no stenosis.
